Inspiration

The idea of Agape Her didn’t just appear out of nowhere. It came from being inspired. But what exactly inspired me to embark on this journey? The answer to that question is easy: one Supreme God, one burning passion and one destined help mate all inspired me to take a leap of faith.

One Supreme God

First and foremost, I must thank God and give Him the glory for all that He is in my life. Without Him nothing is possible. But with Him, all things are possible. Philippians 4:13 says it best. Through Christ, I can do all things. I’m a firm believer that all good ideas come from God. There is no good idea out there that man has thought up in his mind, without the help of God. Some just choose not to acknowledge it. I, however, will give God the credit that is due Him. Agape Her was definitely inspired by God. Recently the idea of starting a blog targeting the issues of loving unconditionally dropped into my spirit. I immediately took God’s idea and ran with it. God is awesome!

One Burning Passion

I’ve always had a distinct passion for writing. Since I can remember, I’ve always loved it. It’s no surprise that English was my favorite subject all throughout my grade school years. Writing has always given me an outlet to get my inner emotions and mentality out there – even if no one else read my stuff, I at least experienced an unusual sense of fulfillment. Though my voice wasn’t really heard by others in the beginning, I was still able to get my voice out of me and onto paper. I guess you can say that was my way of releasing the guilt of suppressing my verbal abilities.

I eventually discovered that poetry was one of the best ways for me to express myself. Expression of self equals freedom. I found an awesome connection between freedom and poetry, because that’s what poetry is. The freedom to express yourself through free-flowing verse and your own rhythm. So, my passion for writing grew even stronger as I discovered new ways to express my thoughts and feelings through this medium. My wife is a witness – throughout our relationship I’ve written her 50+ poems, expressing my love for her and how beautiful of a woman she is to me!

Finally, I decided to not only write poetry, but also articles. I created a contributor page on Yahoo (they have since discontinued that service), and began writing articles online – some of which had to do with loving. Then one day it finally hit me: why write articles on other websites, when you can create your own website? Bingo.

One Destined Help Mate

Yes, you guessed it. My wife is a huge inspiration behind all of this. As I mentioned on my About page, Tia helped me to realize that my voice is important. In fact, without her, my voice would probably still be suppressed. When we began dating she would urge me to express myself more and to not be so shy. It was hard at first, but there was something about her presence that changed me. I began to feel more confident and comfortable around her. If I could tell anybody, anything, she was definitely the one. Before I knew it, I didn’t know how to shut my mouth. Nowadays she has to give me this look, which I can read perfectly clear: Okay honey, you’re talking too much now. In those moments, all I can do is chuckled and think to myself, Hey, you asked for it!

But in all seriousness, Tia has been by my side all the way. She shows me and tells me that I can achieve all my dreams. With her, I literally feel like I’m on top of the world – and because of her, I strive to make a positive difference in her world and the world we live in. She has truly been the best help mate that any man could ask for.

With God, my passion and my wife, I’ve been inspired to create Agape Her and make a difference in this world – and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. My voice will be heard.
